Well i see what they were saying.....they weren't trying to get into his home......He still has the right to defend his property, but i could see calling him stupid to run out, risk his life, for someone taking something from his car. What is really the point here is that he put his life on the line to try to prevent his car from getting a broken window, blew out all the windows, didn't get a single shot on target, ran out of rounds and went back inside where he could have stayed from the beginning, swapped for a different gun, lost his target, then wandered into the yard blind when they could have easily picked him off. Nah, this was pretty stupid…..he was more secure in the home if it was about protecting his family.. He had the option to call the police. Flanking the criminal outside in flip flops was a messy way of protecting property, and he was unsuccessful. Reason why it's stupid the way he did it is because if he actually shot the suspect he would have actually gotten in trouble. Do all combat veterans leave rifles in their unlocked trucks or just stupid ones? 73% of all reported stolen guns come from vehicle break ins, 63% of them not even locked. That means the majority of people that have guns stolen out of their cars didn't even bother to lock them. What is really the point here is that he put his life on the line to try to prevent his car from getting a broken window, blew out all the windows, didn't get a single shot on target, ran out of rounds and went back inside where he could have stayed from the beginning, swapped for a different gun, lost his target, then wandered into the yard blind when they could have easily picked him off.

Exactly. What does defending you get you? A shot up car, future retaliation by thugs...or if that guy had been hit he probably would have sued the home owner. Look to the Bodega owner in New York who stabbed the customer who was intimidating him behind the counter-now he's afraid of gang retaliation (the guy he killed was in a gang) and he's afraid for his life now. As a young vet I felt everything he said ! He’s like a lot of us that have home surveillance (Always On Standby) …yes he is brave ! I’m glad he didn’t get hurt.. he could have came at the burglar any kind of way but he charged forward shooting first no questions no warning because once he saw the surveillance it let him know everything he needed to do !
