no rubbing after subcutaneous injection. however rubbing or massaging is a must for a Intramuscular injection. how about that?

it is no longer recommended by the World Health Organisation and the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. Assorted reasons given include the absence of large vessels in the deltoid area, increased pain, lack of evidence in favour of the aspiration technique, and auto-disable syringes (which usually do not allow aspiration) do not appear to have been associated with increased adverse events in mass campaigns.

Why 45 degrees? Some people say 45 degrees other say straight in for sub-Q.

it depends on the needle, some needles are so small you go straight and it never reaches the muscle

@@renzgraalyou’re not trying to reach the muscle if you’re doing a subcutaneous injection.

45 degrees because you just need to hit the fatty layer, 90 degrees so you hit a muscle.

not sure if this video has been updated but you should NOT aspirate the needle or massage the site of injection at all when doing subcutaneous injections.

Aspiration...is no longer necessary in 2024...just makes for a mire painful procedure.

I remember getting vaccines as a kid, and no one, not the doctor or nurse, would wear gloves. Are they mandatory? If yes, why wouldn't they wear gloves?
