Im Canadian. Even though we have a prime minister the crown is still officially our head of state. I always thought of her like a grandmother type figure for our empire. Some people may not like or understand why the crown is held in such reguard. I feel that just as the US takes pride in its liberty. We take pride in our loyalty and the crown is a symbol of that for us.

The Irish Guards played a prominent role in the funeral and before you ask, many of those men are indeed from the Irish Republic. I came back here to watch this because frankly, I can’t imagine being so incredibly important to garner such a truly impressive display of respect that really can’t even be replicated anywhere in the world.

We didn't just say goodbye to our Queen. We said goodbye to an era and a pillar from and a significant link to the past. People were born and have died only ever knowing Elizabeth II as a monarch.
This moment in history touches the heart deeply. Elizabeth ll was a rock in our world. This footage and sound of the bagpipes is amazing for the her lament.

The massed pipes always gets me in the guts. No exception here for the Queens funeral. RIP Elizabeth. Your son, Charles will make a great king after the years of training and the fine example you set him. Long live the King!
So moving, and so sad. I've always stood up whenever the national anthem was played on tv. Now the knees are getting older so I sat for most of the tv programmes following the death of our lovely late Queen, I stood when appropriate, and I wore all black in honour of this wonderful woman, and echoed her jewellery by wearing my (faux) pearl necklace. Living through the the whole reign of Queen Elizabeth II was an amazing time - I'll never forget it.
This is when it hit home. I've suddenly realised that we are going have a huge Void in our lives as she has always been there. This is absolutely Faultless and everyone taking part the world saw this immaculate send off to a amazing lady.
As an American who has heavy Celtic ancestry, anytime I hear pipes as beautifully sounding as these, I instinctively shed a tear. We would all be so lucky to have such a beautiful send-off to the great beyond..
Everytime i hear bagpipes it makes me feel so sad. Im not even Scottish or Irish. Just seeing this makes me tear up. May the Queen rest in peace. After seeing these ceremonies. Made me hug my own mother and tell her i love her very much. How much I appreciate her. Our mothers and grandmothers are the glue to our families. Condolences and respects go out to the Royal family and their staff. God bless from the US.

Our Queen served her life to her citizens. She never waivered. She was always there, even in the darkest of times when we were unable to be together. The Queen had a wonderful way of saying the right thing at the right time. Two years after, I still look for her on the balcony keeping the family in line.

The practice and discipline and synchrony of the marchers and pall bearers that this took is beyond impressive. Kudos to the British military. Brits and Scots alike should be proud.
I’d just like to thank every single person around the world who has shared their love and admiration of our late HM The Queen. Here in the UK, we still feel lost and a bit adrift. I’m in my mid 60s so all I’ve ever known is The Queen’s steady guidance. I wasn’t fortunate enough to have grandparents, so HM was my surrogate grannie. My friend. She was not just your Queen. She was the mother of so many lands. The greatest woman of the age. Now you have a King and certain low-lives who have evil afoot. But they shall never defame or disgrace her. Years ago I swore an oath of allegiance when I enlisted in THE RAN. No-one ever told me to rescind it.
Let me add a personal story. In 1954, Her Majesty and His Royal Highness visited Australia and were to attend a surf carnival at Manly Beach. It was a magnificent Australian summer day. The Royal couple arrived in a Land Rover and the carnival commenced. A journalist asked my parents if he could film me waving a small flag (I was five years old). They said yes, he shot the footage - and I ended up on the cutting room floor.
Thank you for sharing this lovely tribute with us in the USA 🇺🇸 too. I have never seen a more lovely, grand tribute. You all loved her. The young princess who became queen..and too, Princess Anne is remarkable..her staying by her mom's side as long as possible...love. dedication. God bless...and again thank you Brits.

As an Irishman I have to say that was magnificent. What a send off! Military precision and respect. That was everything that is 'good' about the UK. HM Queen Elizabeth's service to her country is priceless! King Charles has a hard act to follow but having watched him over the last few decades I believe that he is a good man. Trick is don't try and replicate what has come before. King Charles has the credentials to make his mark around the environment and climate.
Misty Covered Mountain was a personal favourite of both HM the Queen and HM the Queen Mother. Both had requested it to be played at their Funeral processions to the Cathedral. HM the Queen Mother asked for it to be played with “My Home” which is even more emotional (in my opinion). Do Have a search for it. Rest in peace their Majesties. God save the King. In a book, that all may read.'
So he vanished from my sight;
And I plucked a hollow reed,
And I made a rural pen,
And I stain'd the water clear,
And I wrote my happy songs
Every child may joy to hear.

A very literal comment
@williamdryden3286she did exactly what the OP said. That and nothing more - just some old woman that died having been that thing they said. I'm not having the respecting thing though
She was known as the boss! to us old soldiers who served under her 2 years still feels like yesterday to me I miss my Queen and that beautiful smile RIP mam it was an hour to serve you as one of your guards💂💂♂💂♀
Time has passed but the memories still very today RIP Queen Elizabeth
Beautiful. Love pipes and drums. No one in the world can do this like us Brits. Funeral fit for a Queen
I am American, my mother was English, all by adoption. It took the death of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth for me to realize something very important. She was my Queen too. God save the King.
Huh??
Fuck the king. Nothing will ever come close to her ever again. We were privilaged to be here for her reign.
She was everyones queen. So very glad you felt a connection
😂
Same. USA. 🇺🇸
i am an American, native to Texas. I watch this every month for some reason...I too grew up with Queen Elizabeth II. I loved her for a reason I can not explain.
Simply put sir.. you are a gentleman & a scholar..
Not only that, i'm sure you have a British lineage.. Scottish, Most likely ulster scots...

I was proud of this display, and I'm Irish. Powerful stuff. God bless Elizabeth 2, she'll be missed.
The Irish Guards played a prominent role in the funeral and before you ask, many of those men are indeed from the Irish Republic. The Queen was also Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment and always wore green on St Patricks day in their honour.
The UK and Ireland may not be one anymore but island brothers we always shall be despite the wrongs of the past.
My family descend from Ireland.. but I'm a proud Englishman. and the older I get the more I genuinely can't understand why the past defines us.. I will love anyone and everyone.. until I'm rubbed up the wrong way by ungrateful idiot's.. I hope we can take the time to live and let live

70 years on the throne. The world’s greatest Ambassador. She loved this country, it’s people and the people of the Commonwealth - she deserved a magnificent send-off and she got it. RIP Your Majesty. 👑
Very proud that she chose to die among us in Scotland. The playing of this lament by the pipers shows great honour to the Queen.

No matter how many times I watch the footage of HM QUEEN ELIZABETH11 funeral I can't help but shed tears. She was an extraordinary person. RIP your majesty. Deep respect from South Africa 🇿🇦

I miss the late Queen.
Thank you
What more can be said about a person who dedicated her whole life to her country.
I feel so honoured to have met Her , such a loss
It felt like my own grandmother had passed. 😢 no one and I mean no one does this better than the British the military. Rest now my queen and thank you for your service ❤
You don’t get this kind of ceremony and presentation unless you have a royal house still. Most other major western countries are presidential or parliamentary democracies or republics and thus, have no royalty to make such ceremonial presentations for. Vive le roi.
The uniforms, the colors, the panoply, Queen Elizabeth has earned all of this and more. Rest in Peace Good Queen, thou good and faithful servant of the Lord. May angels take you to your rest until we're altogether again in His Kingdom.
I'm so proud to be British. This is showing the Nations love and respect of Her Majesty to our highest ability. Our armed forces are just second to none. I shed tears every time I see this.
Our beloved Queen was a one off never to be seen in this lifetime again through good times and our saddest moments she was always there for us somehow we all thought she would always be here for us but it was her time. Thank you for your service. Godspeed. 🇬🇧
As an American with no English descent… wow. What a send off for HM Queen Elizabeth II. Bagpipes, drums, and synchronization in the whole ceremony. I came back here to watch this because frankly, I can’t imagine being so incredibly important to garner such a truly impressive display of respect that really can’t even be replicated anywhere in the world.
She was REALLY important. To millions of people.
Never explain never complain she was the real deal 🎉❤
As an American who's revolutionary ancestor was captured at the debacle of the capture of ffort Washington in Manhattan in 1776 in NY, and died on HMS Jersey, Elizabeth II death moved me deeply. There is a reason for the special relationship America has with the with the United Kingdom...

This is absolutely Faultless and everyone taking part the world saw this immaculate send off to a amazing lady.
yeh me too never been a royalist but man they smashed it out of the park it was just perfect = if a funeral can be perfect
As an American who has heavy Celtic ancestry, anytime I hear pipes as beautifully sounding as these, I instinctively shed a tear. We would all be so lucky to have such a beautiful send-off to the great beyond..
Funny Americans don't like immigrants, but they forget they, themselves, are the product of immigration
What's Irish got to do with this!!!!! This has nothing to do with the Irish! Jesus Christ!!
Northern Irish yes! But I presume you mean the Republic of Ireland because you are an American! Republic of Ireland is not in the UK!! Ireland is an independent country.
A lot of English people have Celtic DNA ☺️
Very well and eloquently said! x
Our Queen served her life to her citizens. She never waivered. She was always there, even in the darkest of times when we were unable to be together. The Queen had a wonderful way of saying the right thing at the right time. Two years after, I still look for her on the balcony keeping the family in line.
It still makes me cry when I watch this. We will never see her like again! 👑😪

I’m English not Scottish and I have loved the pipes since I was a kid, but then a few years back I found out my grandmother was actually born in Edinburg and managed to trace back that side of my lineage nearly three hundred years. So who knows, maybe it’s the bloodline that stirs in me when I hear the pipes.

I think that when the pipes fire up and the drums start rattling, everyone wants to be a bit Scottish.
She was involved in her funeral planning and it shows the extent to which she was Scotland's Queen first as much as anyone else's and how big a part of her life Scotland was.
As Her Majesty wanted it...the Pipes and Drums mournful yet uplifting to the spirit of all.
