I decided to stop donating that R2 after seeing prisoners enjoying KFC that was donated to them. Why would I contribute when I just walked past someone starving at the gate on my way to KFC?

I run an NGO and I refuse to donate R2 until the application process and beneficiaries are made transparent.

KFC should be boycotted because we are donating to them but i have been writing letters to them and their head offices as they have 3 KFC in our small town.We requested any sort of donations to assist young and underprivileged soccer players in Mpumalanga Bethal.I have been running a soccer team and development for almost 5 year's now ,we run soccer tournaments on school holidays to try keep kids away from streets but we have never received any donations or response from them.They are just lying 😢

Why dont those companies use their profits for CSI instead of asking for donations from customers.

Working at KFC’s head office in Bryanston was an eye-opener. The disparity between what they pay their hardworking employees and what their executives pocket is nothing short of outrageous. While the CEOs and CFOs sit in their air-conditioned offices, doing little to justify their obscene salaries, the real labor-our brothers, sisters, and mothers-sweat it out in hot kitchens, earning next to nothing. KFC should be ashamed of how they exploit their workers while rewarding those at the top for doing almost nothing.

This is the thing I’ve been saying about private sector in SA. They are always exploiting the previously disadvantaged groups, we know those positions are mostly held by black and coloured people. We are underpaid in SA, always threatened with being fired, telling us that we must go live in what was previously known as bantustans when we complain about wages.

Its true and shameful....i was also told that only one third of the donations get to recipients and sometimes not.

This is not isolated to KFC. Other retailers that request to purchase their 'charity' items, use this to measure staff performance and the staff are put under quite a bit of pressure if the charity is not selling.

I donate the R2 because I just don’t want the poor workers to lose their jobs.

these corporate companies do exactly what the government does.
They go to rural areas or low standard areas fir a week or a month and take pictures of them fixing roads and electricity ,then post that to convince people they are doing good.
go to those areas, they’ll tell you it’s been 2-5yrs now that place still hasn’t been fully functioning.

Give your own charity. Even if it's half of your apple to one in need right next to you.

A good percentage of the KFC outlets now make use of smart screens to purchase as opposed to the standard cashier system as previous. It is no longer up to the cashiers whether or not the people donate the 2 Rands.
