Australia bubbling under the surface. Delighted for them.
When you look at the wc game against wales they played a year ago - what a switch.
I knew Joe would come through. He's just getting started. Eddie Jones is just a faded memory now. Great recovery and greatest improvement for a team this year. Just goes to show things can change quite fast.
    Stay strong wales 💪

I have been watching the Wallabies from Africa for 42 years I told people after that 2nd half against the AllBlacks in Sydney in Septemebr that the Wallabies were on the rise. The main reason is that guys on the the very good 2018 / 2019 under 20 Australian side are coming of age . McReight, Tate McDermitt, Ikitau, Lolesio, Frost , Wilson , Faessler were all on that team. History might be repeating itself because the 1984 Wallabies squad had its core quite a few of the "invincibles" of the 1978 Australian schoolboys that goure the UK and had Mark Ella as their trigger man

One can sense the pride, the confidence, and the commitment building game by game. Another couple of seasons heading in this direction and the Wallabies will be formidable.

Gatland is the least of their worries. There's a parlous lack of quality in Welsh rugby at every level; the URC regions are woeful and have been for years. The relative competitiveness of the Welsh national side over the last 10-15 years largely belied a desperate state of affairs below the national setup. Gatland's previous stint was the most successful they've ever had, but not even their most successful coach could make a winning team out of this lineup of plodders.

I am usually the last one to call for the sacking of a coach; calls for the firing of a coach are usually emotional and does not take into account the ups and downs you get when you've lost some of your best players.
But the Welsh have got to decide at which point enough is enough. They pushed Australia close earlier this year in two competitive games overseas, but now was absolutely demolished by a Wallabies team that looked lightyears ahead of them.
I suppose the only reason why I won't fire Gats if I had been in charge, is the simple question of "then what?". Who do you want to replace him with? And who will be willing to accept that job? How long a grace period are you willing to give this hypothetical incumbent coach?
If you went and picked, I dunno, Steve Hansen or Jake White as head coaches and you could get Felix Jones as your second in command. Do you think with THIS team you would do any better? Or could it be that the players simply need to get a little more time to deliver?
I honestly don't know, but Wales are at situation critical right now.

Difference between the 2 teams is the standard of coaching and Australia are leagues above us in that regard in terms of game-management, quick thinking in critical moments and controlling the momentum of the game and that's all thanks to Schmidt. 40 of the 52 points Australia scored they hardly had to work for them as we either gave them a free run in from an interception or give away a cheap penalty for them to effortlessly maul their way over. Rugby is all about momentum and we cannot gain it to save our lives.

If you are a bit off your game the Rugby Championship is probably the worst competition to be in. Maybe Aus isn't quite ready to challenge for the number 1 spot yet, but they seem to be moving in the right direction. NZ looks to be improving as well. Hard to tell where SA is heading as they have a different team every week.

I’m a very proud Welshman but our game is finished one believes, because the regions are a mess and Gatland had a bunch of great players who competed and beat the likes of Australia and S.Africa quite regularly and we won grand slams quite easily, but the past is over and one believes he can’t develop these youngsters coming to play now because the regions get no fans well in west Wales, the likes of the Llanelli Scarlets ground is empty, so is the Ospreys were the once mighty Gerry Collins once played and Justin Marshall.
I believe our game is gone and unrealistic to think otherwise now, with our football team winning the nations league group, one believes that rugby is over in Wales unless a new coach comes in and produces miracles.

Welsh fan. Think we need to keep the patience. Very very young team. 6N will be the best indication of where we are. Gats always admits that Autumn's are for experimenting with. Also, I remember a time when we NEVER beat the southern hem teams. Odd change of opinions. WRU does need a real kick up the backside, mind you. Needs to go back to being a proper working class regional sport and not copying the Irish / Scottish model. You've got my backing Gats, and if you leave, I'll be placing blame at WRU door

@TwoCentsRugby Yea see many similarities in Oz / Wales. I'd then argue that we are now not quite as good as them, because generally speaking, we have a much smaller base of players to chose from. But isn't it great to see Scmhidt do well. I've given the majority of Irelands success down to him. And I'd hoped (because I love them) he'd become next NZ coach. Hope Oz now back him and get behind him. They'll be a headache for you lot in the coming years, IMO.

  • @JonoB23

2 weeks in a row Wales have lost their heads when they have gained a man advantage.
Something stinks and it is too easy to blame Gatland. He’s part of the problem for sure but Welsh Rugby is riddled with problems.
Beards selection makes sense even though he never makes dominant carries because once he was off our lineout when it mattered disappeared.
This gives me further evidence that the 20 minute red card doesn’t actually affect anything and isn’t a solution. Australia didn’t have to become conservative with their energy, they knew they were going back to a full compliment so of course they could throw everything at Wales.
