My wish list: Top 10 disney junior shows Top 10 unimportant pokemon episodes (no catching new pokemon, no evolving, no gym/pokemon leage battle, no meeting new rivles, etc) Top 10 underrated animated disney series Best disney movie per decade Top 10 disney reprise songs (deleted included) Top 10 disney villains that deserved a villain song Top 10 disney couples with a tough start (Both movies and tv-series) Top 10 what have I done moment excluding disney and pixar Top 10 disney movie ideas (by you) 👍😉
“The Whole Being Dead Thing” from Beetlejuice should have at least made the honorable mentions. I would have also included “Welcome to the Renaissance” from Something Rotten! which is a very underrated show IMHO.
We recently performed "Hairspray" for our local community theatre, and the girl who played Tracy had such an amazing voice, managing to hold all of the notes, and bring the house down every single night.
I wish that they'd kept "Anybody have a Map?" in the film adaptation, since it delves more into Heidi and Cynthia, as well as their complex relationships with their respective sons. It would have given the amazing Amy Adams more opportunities to sing.
10. "No One Mourns the Wicked" - Wicked 9. "Road to Hell" - Hadestown 8. "Hello" - The Book of Mormon 7. "Anybody Have a Map?" - Dear Evan Hansen 6. "Welcome to the Rock" - Come From Away 5. "Oh My God You Guys" - Legally Blonde 4. "Just Another Day" - Next to Normal 3. "Mama Who Bore Me" - Spring Awakening 2. "Good Morning Baltimore" - Hairspray 1. "Alexander Hamilton" - Hamilton
It’s a point that’s highlighted by the delightful Hamiltonized version of The Ballad of Sweeney Todd that LMM has done a few times, but that’s what “Alexander Hamilton” immediately drives me to. Much like that Sweeney opener it’s a survey piece and stage-setter that drops these germs of ideas that we see fully lived out as the play goes on. It’s a bold choice, but just like for Sweeney, it pays off.
Unfortunately, the narcissism and intolerance of the OBC turned me off "Hamilton" forever. I just can't watch it without thinking of how incredibly obnoxious those people were/are.
WHAT ABOUT LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (movie version) The transition between the heavenly music and the Greek chorus is amazing, and it is just a vibe.. No one mourns the wicked and good morning boltomore are great decisions though.
What about: .Bikini Bottom Day-SpongeBob the Musical .Santa Fe/Carrying the Banner-Newsies .Prologue/The Most Beautiful Thing in the World-Kinky Boots .Arabian Nights- Aladdin .Invisible/The Whole Being Dead Thing-Beetlejuice .Oh The Thinks You Can Think-Seussical
I think one of my favorite show openers is "Live Life This" from Tuck Everlasting. Sets the scene and introduces characters without revealing too to much about them, and the vocals! It's such an underrated musical
this list is only musicals that released after 2000 (not including revivals). falsettos initially came out in 1992 which is why it's not here (the 2016 revival is one of my favorites :D)
I definitely feel like there should be a distinction between modern and contemporary musicals. Hadestown and Wicked are vastly different in their styles
If we consider foreign musicals: "Le temps de cathédrales" from Notre-Dame de Paris and "Alle tantzten mit dem Tod" from Elisabeth are two of the best openings to a musical ever.
I’m guessing sound of music didn’t make the list because it’s not a modern musical. But nothing holds a candle to The hills are alive with the sound of music
I don't understand the constraints of dates. I think this list would have been significantly improved by "Carrying the Banner" from "Newsies" and the opening number "Ragtime" from "Ragtime The Musical"
No welcome to the rennaissance? Helo? It’s a bop and like the rest of the musical mostly historically acurate with hilarious wordplay. We’re called elizibethans. They’re all a bunch fo heathans. Heathans headed straight for you know where is the best example of that
Most are pretty good choices (particularly "Come From Away" and "Spring Awakening") but I would include the opening number from "American Idiot" over most of the others (especially the vastly overrated "Hamilton")...
Brags of the shows amazing songs, but clearly can't play or show very much of it due to copyright laws n paying royalties. Too bad- woulda been great to see at least 16 bars of each show at least.
It's my favorite show of all time, and I've seen nearly 300 shows. It is such a beautiful story of the Canadian town of Gander and how they took in 38 planes who couldn't enter the closed U.S. airspace. It's absolutely brilliant.

Please let bikini bottom day be number 1
We recently performed "Hairspray" for our local community theatre, and the girl who played Tracy had such an amazing voice, managing to hold all of the notes, and bring the house down every single night.
how funny they go for musicals, I wonder which ones are performing at this year’s parade.
Why make it about you?
What character were you?
I'm always happy when "Next To Normal" is recognized. It's just a perfect show and one of the best I have ever seen
I love next to normal so much
Yeah it is too relatable
Alice ripley is so amazing!
I wish that they'd kept "Anybody have a Map?" in the film adaptation, since it delves more into Heidi and Cynthia, as well as their complex relationships with their respective sons. It would have given the amazing Amy Adams more opportunities to sing.
I was so dissapointed that they cut it from the film. It's a very important song to the plot
Them removing Anybody Have A Map and Good For You was their biggest mistake.
10. "No One Mourns the Wicked" - Wicked
9. "Road to Hell" - Hadestown
8. "Hello" - The Book of Mormon
7. "Anybody Have a Map?" - Dear Evan Hansen
6. "Welcome to the Rock" - Come From Away
5. "Oh My God You Guys" - Legally Blonde
4. "Just Another Day" - Next to Normal
3. "Mama Who Bore Me" - Spring Awakening
2. "Good Morning Baltimore" - Hairspray
1. "Alexander Hamilton" - Hamilton
When he tears up in “mama who bore me” 🥺
Carrying the banner from Newsies is one of my favourites ❤️
Thank you for including Come From Away! A great first number.
Moulin Rouge anyone?!? That opening number is AMAZING!
You're so right!!
Great list! It could have been a top 20 since there are so many amazing shows.
Fabulous list. Thank you MsMojo!
Yes! Come From Away and Legally Blonde?! I LOVE those shows!
I've seen wicked, seeing Six in the spring!!
Six is fantastic! I knew I would love it but it exceeded my expectations.
Six is phenomonal! I am a History fan anyway, but this is a story in a pop concert-it was everything I loved!
“It also introduces the show’s most iconic character: salesgirl number 2” the truth has been spoken!
Santa Fe proglue and Carrying the banner are great opening numbers from Newsies
Prologue from Great Comet is a pretty great number. Funny too
It’s a point that’s highlighted by the delightful Hamiltonized version of The Ballad of Sweeney Todd that LMM has done a few times, but that’s what “Alexander Hamilton” immediately drives me to. WHAT ABOUT LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (movie version) The transition between the heavenly music and the Greek chorus is amazing, and it is just a vibe.. No one mourns the wicked and good morning boltomore are great decisions though.
I’m surprised that “Be the Hero” from Big Fish and “Prologue” from Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 aren’t even on the honorable mentions
Happy wednesday afternoon, Emily. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
What about:
.Bikini Bottom Day-SpongeBob the Musical
.Santa Fe/Carrying the Banner-Newsies
.Prologue/The Most Beautiful Thing in the World-Kinky Boots
.Arabian Nights- Aladdin
.Invisible/The Whole Being Dead Thing-Beetlejuice
.Oh The Thinks You Can Think-Seussical
yes that was a good one.
Was gonna say Beetlejuice
The whole being dead thing isn’t the first song in beetlejuice its invisible so that’s probably why
Beetle juice opening is awesome but why oh the things you can think? When my school did it I was cringing the whole way through…
Big Bright Beautiful World from Shrek the musical is SO GOOD! can't believe it didn't even get an honorable mention
Jonathan Groff crying and moved by Lea's singing is pretty awesome
I would put "Corn" from "Shucked" in there - hilarious, and a great introduction to the show!
I think one of my favorite show openers is "Live Life This" from Tuck Everlasting. Sets the scene and introduces characters without revealing too to much about them, and the vocals! It's such an underrated musical
I saw this vid and I said “if falsettos isn’t in here I’m rage quitting”
I rage quitted
this list is only musicals that released after 2000 (not including revivals). falsettos initially came out in 1992 which is why it's not here (the 2016 revival is one of my favorites :D)
I'm surprised that "Bikini Bottom Day" from The Spongebob Broadway Musical didn't make the list.
Yes! Hadestown is one of my favorites.
Many of the shows on this list are my favorites. I adore Hadestown (love to be Hermes) and Come From Away (love to play Garth/Kevin).
YEAY Hadestown made the list! My personal number 1, but I get it's not for everyone.
I love the Wicked movie ❤❤❤❤😮😮😮😮😊😊
I think the opening of Moulin Rouge is worthy of a spot, over Hamilton, even.
Nice set
YES HAMILTON IS GOLDEN
Personal preference, I'd put Hadestown at number one. that being said, I'd go with 'Good Morning Baltimore' over 'Alexander Hamilton' any day
Clicking on this video I automatically knew what would be number 1….And I was not wrong 😂
What? No &Juliet?! Larger than life is... well larger than life!
0:36 my favorite!!!
personal opinion but i really love the prolouge/opening number of into the woods
i'll agree with the number 1 pick!
I definitely feel like there should be a distinction between modern and contemporary musicals. Hadestown and Wicked are vastly different in their styles
Avenue Q is the funniest Broadway musical ever 😂😂😂😂
How did it Hansen made the cut over the honorific mentions or In the Heights or Urinetown?
Hamilton 👏👏👏👍😁 Just rewatched tonight 11/26/2024.
Six doesn't ever get an honorable mention, appalled!
Is no one going to talk about phantom of the opera? That opening gave me chills
This only includes musicals that debuted after 2000. Phantom is way older than that.
WEST OF WORDS, ALICE BY HEART
Does The Lion King count as a modern musical? Otherwise "Circle of Life" must be included.
It debuted before 2000, so it wasn't in scope of this list. However Lion King is the best opening of all time (in my opinion)
If we consider foreign musicals: "Le temps de cathédrales" from Notre-Dame de Paris and "Alle tantzten mit dem Tod" from Elisabeth are two of the best openings to a musical ever.
What about "Just Like It Was Before" from Bandstand?
I’m guessing sound of music didn’t make the list because it’s not a modern musical. But nothing holds a candle to The hills are alive with the sound of music
They said right at the beginning that it was only shows that debuted after 2000.
prologue from natasha pierre
another good opening number from a modern musical is Ring Around the Moon from The Spitfire Grill
Imo the only good song from DEH is Does Anybody Have a Map, but imo does not deserve a spot in the top 10
I don't understand the constraints of dates. I think this list would have been significantly improved by "Carrying the Banner" from "Newsies" and the opening number "Ragtime" from "Ragtime The Musical"
wow hamiltion won this nope Wicked should of or maybe pahantom wow nope not exited about these picks
How does Beautiful only get an honourable mention? It is the best opening number of all. With Alexander Hamilton being second, of course.
No Aladdin? Come on, Arabian Nights is so iconic!
No welcome to the rennaissance? Helo? It’s a bop and like the rest of the musical mostly historically acurate with hilarious wordplay. We’re called elizibethans. They’re all a bunch fo heathans. Heathans headed straight for you know where is the best example of that
Where’s Greatest Showman???
Not a Broadway show
Theres not a Broadway show of it
Most are pretty good choices (particularly "Come From Away" and "Spring Awakening") but I would include the opening number from "American Idiot" over most of the others (especially the vastly overrated "Hamilton")...
Les Miserables "At the End of the Day" doesn't make the cut? Jeez!
No Hedwig.?!
You missed Moulin Rouge!
Get ready 4 wicked
EVERY time Lea Michelle sings.....Jonathan Groff cries....
4 jews from Falsettos perfectly sums up the situation
I'm suprised Seasons Of Love, Jellicle Songs (for Jellicle Cats) and All That Jazz are not on this list!
They said they were not doing anything before 2000 or any remakes
All those songs are from pre-2000 musicals, so don't qualify.
Interesting thing- Seasons of Love is only at the beginning for the movie version of Rent. It’s actually the act 2 opener in the stage show :)
People who think Tulsa 67 should have made the list?
Rent?
@@jorgealejandro672 before 2000
UMM WHAT HAPPENED TO LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS AND SUFFS?!?!?
How could the opening of wicked possibly be 10th? It’s so much better than many of the others.
Ok how about picking stuff older than 1993?
I’m so sad that Ben Platt couldn’t accept he had grown and ruined the opportunity of many to meet Dear Evan Hansen
Anastasia never ever makes any lists! Why???
No Beatlejuice really
Lion king and Sweeney Todd not mentioned?
Both premiered before 2000 so not eligible for this list
Brags of the shows amazing songs, but clearly can't play or show very much of it due to copyright laws n paying royalties. Too bad- woulda been great to see at least 16 bars of each show at least.
I’m sorry. There’s a 9/11 musical????
Come From Away is amazing
Not 9/11 musical in the way you are probably thinking but more what happened to people/the world on September 12th and beyond.
It's my favorite show of all time, and I've seen nearly 300 shows. It is such a beautiful story of the Canadian town of Gander and how they took in 38 planes who couldn't enter the closed U.S. airspace. It's absolutely brilliant.
The background music while you're talking is unnecessary.
🩷❤️🩷
Hamilton is overrated there I said it
Hamilton is so OVERRATED
