This is very creative and quite genius. You've opened my eyes to a whole different type of food preparation I would have know otherwise.
    Thanks

    • @pulaski1
      @pulaski1 12 дней назад +18

It's not just wine, it's any aged liquor, but especially Scotch Whisky, which is typically aged in pre-used barrels, mostly from bourbon, but sometimes in wine barrels or those previously used for sherry, port, brandy, rum, Madeira, _etc._ The raw whisky from the still is clear, "white lightning", what comes out of the barrels may be anything from straw-coloured to very dark brown, and the colour is _entirely_ from the flavours and colours that leech out of the barrel.

Its possible to make wine from oak leaves.
(Walnut, beech, lime, birch or hawthorne leaves can be used)
4.5L freshly picked oak tree leaves
      250 grams sultanas or raisins
      1KGish sugar 1.090SG
      4 oranges - juice
2 lemons - juice and zest
      4.5L water
      Yeast
1 Boil leaves in water and leave for 24 hours (no longer) then seive into primary.
2 Chop then add raisins and grated lemon peal while still hot, then lemon and orange juice when cooler
3 Pitch yeast and nutrient when at room temperature
4 Ferment and rack at one month then two months later and 3 months later.
5 Bottle after bulk aging for as long as you can.
Needs at least one year to mature from pitching yeast

They make acorn jelly in Korea, it’s a lot like tofu, it’s a combination of acorn flour and a little rice flour, some also add agar I think. It’s got a nutty flavor and it can fry up like tofu. I cooked it one time, made slices, dragged them in flour, fried, then served with soy sauce and chili ketchup, it was great. It’s called dotorimuk.
