      Use hard wood over soft woods, and large pieces chopped/cut up will burn much longer than a small branch as shown. The process is still exactly the same as shown. The choice of tree type will change the flavor if burned for cooking food. Oak is the most preferred type by commercial charcoal producers.

  • @zzz5824
    @zzz5824 5 часов назад

    i make charcoal every week
    start a small fire
    put fat logs on it
    blow it so they light
    when flame rises up put more logs on
    make a brick box
    with one wall missing - wind goes in this wall
    fire at bottom
    when flame rises put more logs on, 15+ logs later keep building them up when the flame comes through
    ( dont stack all at once cus it can smother it )
    get a plastic curved sheet ( i use a circle sleigh)
    fan it so mega flames come out the top
    wait
    may go down
    fan until u think they have all charred
    u only want the first layer on fire
    they all get cooked inner to black
    when u think they are all black
    maybe fan 3 times over 2-5 minutes
    let time cook it, dont fan too much, but, its possible, doing this at the beach with high wind would be better
    let them soak in the ocean for 2 weeks, then dry them in the dryest sant
    salty wood, burns longer

    • @zzz5824
      @zzz5824 5 часов назад

      then put slabs/ bricks on top
      and cover the holes with sand.
      may need to put large logs at bottom
      and small sticks on top,
      helps the burn
      no ash at all, it will all char
