The YT algorithm brought me here - glad I clicked. I love the attitude - "have I done this before? Absolutely not, but that's what we do here" As you said this, I could glance over at my first super-strat guitar (from the early 90's) that I did an extensive body mod/repaint on a couple of years back. Reshaped it, added a JEM-style monkey grip and a glitter paint job. Plus a recent project of a friend's LP-style guitar where I tried my first headstock repair. (been under full string tension for a week or so and hasn't fallen apart yet - so Yay?) I was nearly screaming at the monitor for you to save the sticker, and I'm glad you did. That you were able to save a lot of the hardware and retain some of the patina from the fire is a bonus. Looking forward to part 2 - what a great addition to the story of this guitar.
Thanks so much! And thanks for sharing your projects they sound so cool!! I’ve played a few Gibson with headstock repairs and it always blows my mind that they’re able to stand up to all that tension, especially after a break. Glad yours is holding up well! Also the stick was a MUST KEEP for this build haha! That thing survived a fire so there was no way I was going to be the end of it! Thanks so much for watching!
NO WAY. It broke my heart when I found out about the fire from your brother, and holy shit this makes me so happy. It already looks amazing, can't wait to see how it turns out!
Oh my god, I hate when I discover channels in the middle of a project and I have to wait for the result. Ugg. Love the video though. At first I was worried you would sand off too much of the burnt but I love the amount you left, gives the instrument so much personality
I have one of those old Epiphone Dot studios and I ADORE it. I still play it more than anything else live. So sorry to hear he lost his, those things are a gem.
I had just found your channel, cool. I can't watch the first part I to was in a house fire, lost my cat, my guitars, I couldn't care about.. Anyways, now I have a 2000 Epi special, slightly modded, very , very red, a 2020 Simi hollow partscaster, upgraded, and a winter project, a Fire bird looking thing, with a P90 in the bridge. Can't wait to see more 🎸🎸🎸
This project will truly honor the life of this guitar- you are very adventurous to do this! Love all the projects you have done so far and happy I found and subscribed!
Fantastic presentation and fantastic work so far. Looking forward to the next part. Also, really awesome you were able to salvage and reapply the sticker. It’s looking beautiful
Funny. About 15 years ago. I bought a strat copy on Ebay from a house fire. After all the repairs. It took 10 years for the smell to work its way out. Nice job with your project.
I love the redemption story. The guitar will bring a story as well as sing a story by the player. I have rebuilt a number of marred, rejected, and otherwise destroyed guitars and basses for the simple joy of giving them a second chance at a song. No implying of a completely tactless pun but, if the neck is unsalvageable, considering the scorch-reliced body, seriously, the rich tinted tone of a roasted maple neck would look fitting on the rebuild, and keep with the original Fender character.
I love that! I really hate the idea of instruments being thrown away or destroyed when they're damaged (had to do it a lot when I worked at a certain big box music store). I was also thinking about a roasted maple neck! I have one on my tele and love the way they look and play, I'll have to check with my brother to see if that's to his liking. Thanks for the suggestion!
So sorry for your brother, that soot-covered pile of pedals is heartbreaking to see, but lucky he has such an awesome sibling to help salvage the Tele!
Good news about the pedals! When I was checking out the guitar, I also tested all the pedals and they all work besides the pog! Even his voodoo labs power supplies and patch cables were fine just a little soot covered!
I cannot say enough great stuff about this project! I love that you reapplied the sticker by the string ferrules :) The story of this guitar is epic and I can't wait to see how it ends up!
Heartbreaking to lose instruments that are part of your soul. I know that feeling it’s horrible. But kudos and respect for the rebuild for your brother. Cheers.
Thank you so much! I absolutely adore Seagulls (the S6 is probably my favorite acoustic to recommend to people just starting out). Hopefully I can find my brother another one!
@@nisebelle I'd recommend checking with Godin (parent company) to see if they have factory seconds. You can get an incredible deal that way and they respond fairly quickly. Also check out some of their electrics. Not a salesman for them, just an avid fan and player of their gear.
Everyone's worst nightmare, gosh that's tough. I think honouring the instrument's history rather than erasing it or worse, just throwing it away is a very healthy and healing thing as cheesy as that sounds
What did you use to clean the metal? A friend gave me a telecaster from Japan buy the stainless parts looks pale and rusty. I want make it shinny again.
Haha I love it! Now the question is, go with a flame maple or roasted maple neck? Ideally I’d like to avoid setting one on fire just to match the aesthetics haha
That's such a good idea! I wish I had thought of it before putting on all the coats of finish haha. I'll definitely keep that in mind if another broken tele crosses my path. Thanks for the suggestion!
Watch part 2 here!
ruclips.net/video/gU1p_JK_TPw/видео.html
I love that you managed to preserve the sticker.
Haha I had to!! I felt like since it had already survived a fire, it'd be a shame if I just sanded it off
@@nisebelle Misato is nothing if not a survivor lol
@@TheHumanPurpleTape haha you’re absolutely right! Certified best girl!
yeah this bit really got me. Subscribed and looking forward to part 2!
I like keeping the burnt wood look. Something Fender would charge extra for.😎
Haha I really hope that the relic department at fender doesn’t start setting guitars on fire after this!
"Put the sticker under the new coating!" is the first thing I thought when I saw you peeling it off, Im so glad you did that
Same here. It's a part of the Tele for good now.

crying while I watch this, beautiful story

You’ll have to swing by and play it once it’s finished!

Even though it’s burnt i have to say the body looks really good. And i mean who doesn’t like a grey burnt finish telecastor.
Sweet project, I'm glad your videos got picked up by the algorithm for me to see! Subbed. Look forward to pt2!
You're an amazing sister. Your brother is lucky to have you.

Wow! Really looking forward to the finish - thanks for sharing!
That thang has lived.
What a great project. Personal value is so much greater than monetary value, cant wait to see it complete

im so sorry such a terrible thing happen to you guys! i hope you guys are able to get your guys's things back sending best wishes and prayers
Thank you so much!
❤❤🎉🎉🎉awesome. I loved keeping the life of the guitar in the restoration
So glad you left the fire damage. Makes for a better art piece.
Waiting for part 2!!!
the whole intro of how you got the guitar has me in tears 😭i’m so looking forward to seeing how you bring the guitar back to life!!
I wish I could’ve saved more of them! I’m excited to get this one back to him though!
@@nisebelle omg are you gonna get his reaction?
@@hellajanice haha maybe! Depends on if I can ship it down in time before I finish the video
Such a cool project! Can't wait to see the repaired guitar

Thank you so much! I’m excited to finish it up once the finish is done curing!
very well edited and narrated video, really looks like a video from a 100k+ subs channel
Thank you so much!
Love that you kept it a natural, albeit burnt, finish. The burnt areas just make it look like it was built by Ben Crowe of Crimson Guitars.

That might be a cool color. Not just your regular sunburst but actual FIRE burst
Honestly.. Best flame maple finish i've ever seen
Haha I can vouch for the cool color! However I have to insist that others try laquer for similar results as opposed to burning they’re instruments!
Flame maple without the flame maple price! What’s not to love haha
Telecaster lights a cigarette, “Told you I’d be ok”. ❤
and if the neck survived, it would still be in tune 😂😂😂
What a cool way to restore the guitar! I can't wait to see part 2.
I'm so into this. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
I look forward to seeing it finished.

Such beautiful dedication 🎵🎵🎵❤🌈
Looks cooler after being burnt
do make guitar bodies, necks?
Did you still have that burnt pedal? Guess i could save them😢
Can I buy the burnt pickguard?
“All tools are hammers. Except for screwdrivers, which are chisels.”
Where's part 2?
Filming next weekend! Still waiting on a couple parts to come in, but I’m hoping to get it out in a couple weeks!
I used to hear that Tele's would survive even a nuclear war, may be its true!!
Burntcaster
Damn that sucks, rip guitars.
Your brother lost everything in a fire and you still roasted his potato quality video 🤣
You are so cool...
