I'm pretty sure it is because when attempting the kick flip he is really focusing on dragging his front foot up off the pop, he'd land a very high Ollie easy if he understood that that part is just as important in the Ollie as on the kickflip.

That’s actually so cool not only have I never seen someone learn a kick flip that fast, but we gotta give the biggest props to the teacher, That’s the only person I’ve seen, actually explain how to do a kick flip, that would make sense(not “since” 😂) to someone who’s never done it. it's not just him having potential it's also the teacher's way how easily he could teach people wanting to learn. i always see him running a clip where he sees a student "i want to learn this" He either ask if you can do this and start with that, look at how their habits and movements are, and try to guide them to make them actually execute correctly. and the scary part is YOU as the viewer actually follow it if you had a board and some confidence. :) he is really one of a kind teacher.

To be fair ive been recently learning to kickflip and just from this video alone i learned ive been ollieing incorrectly. Also, prior to this video i was operating on the notion that your foot is flicking as its sliding for the kickflip, and my board always ended up flying in the other direction.
