Buy what you like of good quality and workmanship. Pick a beautiful fabric and find a tailor! Buy jewelry made by artists or wear some special family jewelry. Remember that the jewelry you wear is like art that you have at home; it’s not about the price, it’s about the work (could be students or street artists).

@@NeonTurman buy well stitched thicker natural fabrics. Repair and maintain well. Avoid patterns, stick to a classic colour palette and make sure your cellphone case is fresh and your nail polish not chipped. Absolutely no trends. If in doubt, use the stuff you have that's 15 years old!!! Or your parents' stuff

My best friend once taught me the most powerful pause-if someone wants to engage in gossip, or males a catty remark about someone and looks to you for engagement-pause, contemplate what theyve said for just a beat, consider that whatever they just said, may be directed at you at some point- look at them-smile- change the subject. It lets people know that your confidence need not come at others expense. A very powerful, feel-good message.

Exciting video, A year ago i took the no contact route, well i wouldnt say it didnt go well, but i missed her and sometimes you have to leave your comfort zone and go for what you want, Without knowing and having a huge ego, we might actually miss out on our soul mate all in the name of not settling for less, I know who i am, and at the same time i know what i want for me, so i did all i could to get her back, and I must say, it was the best decision i have ever made, we have been together again for over 7 months, yes marriage isnt always rosey, but i am lucky to have her, just as she is to have me, we compliment each other

All these things are result of not being afraid. They are not rushing cause they can afford other ticket, they can buy better thing, they have connections cause they used that serveces and payed that people well so when they called them again they will prioriteze them and so on.. if you still dont have enough money its normal to be more worried or scared and that showes in your actions.

I do half of these things already and I'm broke. It's the few I don't do that brought me to this video. I use to do almost all of them but with an unhealthy mental state the others went away slowly. Some might have been born with a silver spoon but chances are their healthy living skills provided them with what they have. I'm getting ready to put several boxes of crap from my living room in the back room to make the house look better only because I'm very aware that the stuff piling up is bringing me down.

I admit, those are some very well-intended pieces of advice, but then people are usually perfect because of their imperfections. I had recently met a couple of ladies that were adorable because of being a little chaotic. Somehow, it added charm to them. So, yes, some of us are a little anxious because we don't know how to fit all our endeavours in a 24-hour-day schedule. Some of us have a vivid desk, because, if clean up, we won't find anything again. Some of us are night owls. And some of us can't help being generous with money, even if we aren't Bill Gates or Elon Musk. But then again, what's wrong with just being yourself?

    • @MannersMattersChannel
      @MannersMattersChannel  27 дней назад +4

I completely agree! Embracing our imperfections is what makes us unique and relatable. Each person's charm often comes from their quirks and individuality.

Most of this is pretty spot on. It all comes down to attitude. Being prepared and organized helps one not to be or feel rushed. So does not procrastinating and waiting until the last minute. So does having a personal assistant (like many rich people have.) I agree with what was said re: quality over quanty and valuing purchasing experiences vs buying material things. Although I'm not above hitting tourist traps. It's part of the 'experience' lol

During the funeral from my father, we were as a family in the family waiting room before going into the big hall, the funeral lady asked my aunt if she could say her first name if she would called forward to say something about my dad. My aunt said no. It sounds rude but it has to do with this: the funeral lady as not a friend or family from my aunt. My aunt had a real pearl necklace, a chique handbag and was dressed very well. Here daughter in law had a real Louis Vuitton handbag. My nephew has a stone whole sale company and his wife a Thai massage salon ( non-sex). My aunts husband was a Doctor doctor ( a hospital doctor/physician on the university doctor(al) level). It is old money.
For the rest you must have table manners. You do not have to do chique all the time but keep it descent. Don't spent money on nonsense and keep your money in your pocket. " Mom, you want some flowers?" "No, keep your money in your pocket". A be a bit reserved and keep your arm with you. No big gestures with your arms. You can look how real royalty behave. Always relaxed. Ofcourse a Dime will never be a Quarter but if you can improve yourself, do it. And be able to talk to people on every level. Don't feel more than other people. And....no t-shirt under a polo shirt.

Frankly, all the points were immensely relatable. And to end with, do take a pause before writing a comment-it creates an impact!
Also, I totally agree with you- The Pause, Buying Quality, Clean and Organized, Network, Experience over Stuff, and confidence.
Thinking aloud, let's use the process of elimination. I think, I do buy Quality and rarely. Clean and Organized I am mostly but will be more careful hereon.
I think, Network and Experience can be clubbed creating a base for the Confidence to be practiced. While this shall happen on a less often basis,
On a regular basis, The Confidence and The pause are a MUST.
    CONFIDENCE
Know who they are and what they bring to the table.
    Show up for yourself
    Speak a little more clearly
    Make eye contact
Stand up Straight even when you are at a grocery store (* I would like to add here- Dress up well when you are stepping out, even when you are going to the supermarket nearby)
DONT DOWNPLAY yourself. You DO NOT have to shrink to make other people comfortable.
It isn't about being the loudest person, it is about quietly knowing you belong there too
Me too- Chronically overscheduling and over-apologising!
    It's about
"How you show up in your own life! "
    Very powerful words

You see a lot of folks who don’t have focus or knowing what to do except just live their life without direction. One of the best ways to keep focus and your intent is to start journaling. It helps organize your thoughts and keeps your focus. Take a few moments before you start your day. So instead of just looking at the paper without knowing what to write. Start with thinking like a to do list of what needs to be done for that day. You’ll be surprised at what you got done that day.

The “pause” is mastered by teachers not rich people. 😂
Let me tell you, it’s rich people who are in a rush.
However, teachers have students who just got off their iPads asking them questions a mile a minute. 10 kids can literally pop up at you at once. You have to pause and give yourself time to think and focus on what they are asking. Now I use this in everyday life when I start to become stressed. I’m pretty sure it’s a trauma response. Lastly, the Bible tells us to have peace, so if I feel like I’m using mine, I remember how much the “pause” helps me.
It’s really not a mystery and I don’t own the place or anything!
Edit: “clutter is just delayed decisions.” Is why smart people are so cluttered,
That’s literally what the “pause” is. 😂😂

I'm not refined in anyway and let me assure you that I am consistent with my home and space being clean and tidy with minimal effort because I don't clutter things, but I have a dog and however much I Clean his paws, do what I need to, it's not as simple as consistency because the elements change and one day my house can be perfectly respectable but the next it's pouring down with rain and it looks like a mud bath so that tips not very realistic. And five years for a good quality coat is not exactly very long.

Ummm... The intentional pause before answering a hard question is NOT intentional, they're actually thinking. It's not fake. Their troubles and peace is very real. They learnt from life , they don't fake their principles. So to all those poor people out there , "Don't copy upper class people before learning what they learnt in life." Rich people are not fake. They just don't have time for nonsense.

Thank you for sharing your perspective! It's a valuable reminder that we should all take the time to truly understand before we emulate others.

But for habit no 2, it is so boring to wear the same jacket for 5 y. How do u get over this?

I totally understand! It can be tough to stick with the same jacket for so long. Maybe try mixing it up with different layers or accessories to keep things fresh!

if you had that jacket, you would love it & you wouldn't be wearing it every day though a season. When you find the piece of clothing you want it has to totally grab you so that you know, 5 -20 years later you will still love it. A good handbag can last you 10 years and you never tire of it. Shop in person instead of online, this might help.
