I read a book that really helps me, now I know the secret how to learn to speak English quickly. The only thing that keeps us to still not learn to speak English is our mind. If you're afraid to speak English because you think you will commit mistakes, then sorry you will never learn to speak English. Trying to speak English doesn't mean to be perfect just like we learned in school. But speaking in English is to communicate, don't be afraid to make an error. Speak in English forget the "one correct answer" rule that school taught us, your study to communicate and not to impress your teacher. You're not in school anymore, use what ever you learned in reality. Just like me, I never afraid if I have mistakes in my sentences, I'm not native English speaker. So, what I'm afraid? I'm just a learner, means it's natural to have mistakes. Just speak again and again in English. THE FACT IS IT IS BETTER TO TRY AND TRY AND MISTAKE AND TRY AGAIN THAN NOTHING. So, you know the answer why you didn't learn or progress, because of the wrong mindset. Be always positive, don't think of any bad things. Your focus is to learn.

What I learn from the book is we should trying despite we make a mistake instead we never try and just dreaming about perfection

I'm Japanese and I've been learning English over 20 years, always been frustrated that I can't catch up with fast spoken english by native speakers (especially British).
Now I've watched this lecture video and what I have realized is that it looks absolutely impossible for us non-native speakers(especially Japanese) to make it able to understand. The linking sound changes and some of the contraction were mind-blowing to me. Although my ears have trouble even in listening the differences between [can/can't] or [want/won't], how can I make it hearable?
Thank you Laura for this great lesson. I've subscribed this channel.

Excellent point. The fast english really creat "new sounds" which you never heard from normal speech. That's unique for native speaker who conbine high freuent words. But if you lucky to recording it and replay with 0.5 speed , you find the recipe to duplicate. Anyway, the simpler way is reading as mush as you can and as fast as you can, if can correct pronunciation by self.
PS, the schwa is used for highlight other stressed syllables. That's why all |a, e, i, o ,u| could be sounds like it.
That's also why English is not spelling language as we used thought it was.

а кто учиться не хочет и неграмотный - так они нихера не знают, ни русского, ни математики.

I read a book that really helps me, now i kbow the secret how to speak Emglish quickly. The only thing that keeps us to still not learn speak English is our mind. If you're afraid to speak English because you think you will commit mistakes, then sorry you will never learn to speak Englis. Trying to speak Englis dosen't mean to be perfect just like we learned in school. But speaking in English is to communicate, don't be afraid to make an error. Speak in English forget the "ome correct answer' rule that school taught us, your study to communicate and not to Impress your teacher. You're not in school anymore, use what ever you learned in reality just like me. I never afraid if I have mistakes in my sentences, I'm not native English speaker. So, what I'm arfraid? I'm just a learner, means it's natural to have mistakes. Just speak again and again in English. The FACT is it is better to try and and Mistake and try again than nothing. So. You know the answer why you didn't learn or progress, because of the wrong mindset. Be always positive, don't think of any bad things. Your focus is to learn I am really glad to find this video clip. Understanding fast spoken English has always been a problem for me. And your teaching is really heplful. I hope, if possible, that you will have more practical exercises regarding those connecting sounds, removing sounds as chaging sounds Excellent video! As a native speaker from the Us, Accents! I'm always fascinated by how you 'remove the R from words like
