Dr, Lushaba is nice to listen to as he deals with indigenous African epistemology and ontology in terms of the neo-colonial Western ideology in which our people live in both South Africa, Africa, and at UTC. Dr. Lushaba explained well as to what happened at UCT after they removed two female presidents of the university. I am not from South Africa and live in Minnesota. I often read on developments in South Africa, and I tried to find out what university leader Phakeng did wrong at UCT, but I could find out. But now I was happy to hear Dr. Lushaba explain this in detail. I will look for a book by Dr. Lushaba. I can listen to this teacher the whole day.

To wake up and be still able to live to Dr Lushaba is something beyond a blessing as a black person . I can never be this much happy to be part of those who lives to listen to this elder . Black ancestors may keep him in order for us to keep learning and relearning . Black consciousness remains unsophisticated truth we must all digest as a black peoples . Antithesis is the negation of the thesis .

First two lectures were great. Introducing Mamdani’s work to us and stuff was great but the ultimate conclusion in the lecture series wasn’t satisfying.
If you’re listening to him with the intent of figuring out how black people can get out of this situation of European domination within the next 10 years then you won’t be satisfied.

I particularly liked his take on liberal values and its tenets on how it place the individual at the center and how this runs averse to our values of Ubuntu and communitarian beliefs which claim that- our beliefs and values as a people are intricately linked to our communities and therefore our moral obligations are first and foremost to those communities we belong to.
