Jay was the first celebrity I met when I moved to L.A. I worked in Burbank near NBC. I used to see him when I drove to work in the morning. Once he pulled up next to me at a light. He was driving a beautiful Formula One knockoff car. He motioned for me to roll down my window to tell me a brake light was out. I was shocked and thanked him. Told him I loved his car. So he started telling me all about the car. Just a nice guy who loves cars!
What an episode! Tom and Jay on a walkabout talking about cars. Love how they both find the history and stories as interesting as the cars themselves. Would like to see more of this.
A couple of years ago I attended a car show in St. Augustine Florida. There was a "Make A Wish" family there that told a story of touring his garage. Jay wasn't supposed to be there but showed up, personally showed them around, and let them take pictures, sit in cars and they had a great time. It was a personal story and very important to that family. Class.
I've been following Jay Leno RUclips channel for over 10 years. About 10 years ago, I was working in West Africa managing some facilities for an American Oil & Gas company. One of these facilities was a helicopter hanger in an airport (the helicopters were used for crew changing the offshore crew). One of the light fixtures fell and damage of the blades of the helicopter. It was a 10kg halogen light. I had just watched a Jay Leno episode a few weeks earlier about the LED lights that Jay was (and still is) using in his garage. I contacted the company and got the same lights for the hangar. Every time I see an episode I remember this story. 😊
We've all been to Jay's Garage a thousand times (virtually) but every visit is a fresh, unique experience because each tour is tailored to each visitor. This was certainly no exception. Thanks Jay and Tom!
And here’s me desperately trying to get back into a 911 turbo S. life can hit hard and why you least expect it. I hope this collection never gets split up.
He is visibly aged. But the weight loss may have been deliberate. They do this to avoid diabetes, heart disease and dementia. It isn't necessarily stress related.

I must confess as far as talk show hosts or comedians go, Jay was never on the top of my list but I've come to truly appreciate him as an auto enthusiast. I love that he shares his collection with people and loves to take them for rides in cars the vast majority would never see in a lifetime, let alone ride in. Many collectors of that caliber would keep it to themselves and never risk taking them out on the road at all or take the time to document them. As a comedian/talk-show host, Jay was one of the few who was consistently humble and gracious toward his guests. He was supportive of nervous guests, kind toward children and animals, and he didn't get bent out of shape when a guest (like Robin Williams) might steal the show. Others, like Letterman and Conan O'Brian especially, had mean streaks that would come out fairly frequently, and lacked Jay's genuine warmth. The only other comedian/talk show host who was as gracious toward his guests was Craig Ferguson. Jay and Craig are the only two among their contemporaries whose companionship would provide real human value, in my opinion.

@@ipwee Yeah, well, uh, you know, that's just like your opinion man!
i don't see it
I bet you'd still have to keep up with him.
NO ONE has better car videos than Jay. As a New Englander of the same vintage as Jay, I’ve always related to his stories about growing up in a small town and seeing a cool car. Great memories!
I wish somebody would do a whole video on all the cars he has. I know it would be very long and might even be more than one video, but man, that would be awesome! I would watch it in a heartbeat.
that would be so nice!
Check out his channel.
Too many cars for 1 show
Jay Leno, the only celebrity I would love to meet and thank for keeping the history of these cars. Amazing that he is so humble, funny and yet has the passion for what he loves. God bless Jay!
Jay Leno is a real modern day time traveler! The stories Jay saved away is just mind boggling. Jay is a curator of metal motion. Thank you Jay Leno! He has saved so much history that would have been consumed by mother earth. Fabulous video both of you.
Jay is a American legend to me, great performer on comedy, and just a incredible car guy ,and he comes across as a sincere nice guy , I miss him on late night tv, thanks for the years Jay !
Jay…. God speed. Thank you. You’ve done well. You have saved a lot of automobile history for our future generations.
I can listen to Jay talk cars and engines all day long! Thanks Jay for being a great steward to these machines!
Wow! what an episode, thanks Tom and Jay (and Hagerty and Leno's Garage for making this for us, too!)
I love the stories and history he tells of the cars. It makes the cars that much more interesting. Jay needs a full production documentary about his cars and the stories of how he acquired them and the history of the car.
Jay is the king of all machines gas, steam, electric!!!!!bless him. Thank you for the show.🎉🎉🎉🎉
9:10 you hit the nail on the head my friend when it comes to Jay Leno we indeed are so very lucky. I hope for Jay that his health always stays strong so that he is able to share his knowledge to his very last day / minute / second on this earth! 😊
Jay is just a national treasure. His knowledge and enthusiasm is just incredible and he's doing all this stuff albeit being 74 years old on April 28th this year. 😎😎🤘🤘
Hats off to Jay. He knows his history. He is always correcting guests on details. Love it.
Leno seems to be slowing down quite a bit. He’s lost some weight, his speech has slowed, his walking and coordination as well. Hope the guy’s ok. One of the best channels on RUclips. I’d love to spend a day in his garage with Jay.
He's in pain, here...Looks like prostate issues...
That's what happens when you get old. He's not a spring chicken anymore
He is 74, and works hard. Being tired is okay.
@@burtburt2263 Prostate issues? I think Jay knows enough to-over the years-have physicals, get a PSA test, etc.
@@curbozerboomer1773 You aren't very bright!!! Just because you get check ups, doesn't make the problems "magically dissapear"...Imagine just seeing a Dr, cures the problem you are having...? Roflmao! "Yup, Mr Leno, your prostate was 3 times the normal size before you came in...?" OMG!
Jay is a national treasure and an automobile ambassador for sure. This is a man who knows everything there is about these vehicles. He loves them like they are his children. The dedication to perfection he shares with the world can't be equated. Thanks to Jay generations of people will enjoy seeing these well into the foreseeable future 👍
It's great to see Jay in a fine bit of health and slimmer. As always, another great episode of Barn Find Hunter.
Fine bit of health?
Love the "Liberty Handicap" 1918 Race at the Cincinnati Motor Speedway sign on the wall. I've never seen one that big. It's such an interesting piece of history.
Thank the lord for Jay leno he brings happiness to a lot of people god bless him
Jay is a true class act.
I hope he has a plan in place to create a museum with his collection.
I would gladly pay to travel cross country to spend a couple days viewing it.
Two Men I've started to admire more and more as I got older, Together. Beautiful ❤
Jay Leno is one of a kind. Such a kind soul... always happy to share moto or auto thoughts.
Tom and Jay chatting together. How could it be better ?
them chatting in the middle of a huge car collection and showing off some amazing barn finds. Oh wait....
Thank you Hagerty and Jay Leno.
These episodes are pure gold and immensely enjoyable to watch more than once.
Jay, thank you for everything you’ve done for us car guys.
Thank You!!! What an amazing episode. Jay Leno really is just the best custodian imaginable of all this history.
I met Tom at the Amelia Island show this year. We had a great conversation about his car at the event, along with other cars. He's the real deal car guy 👍. One day i hope to meet Jay and tour his garage 🙏
That Daimler Dart is a beautiful automobile. Jay always has the best stuff...
Jay is definitely a national treasure!
Thank mr Lenno amazing collection . Every video is better than the previous. Good luck and always happy and healthy.
My dad had a 1958 Fiat 1103 that he bought for $100 in 1967. He drove it to work for nine years in Lompoc CA. He replaced the head gasket numerous times we rode all over town. Seeing Jay Leno’s 1103 brought back a ton of memories thanks for showing it.
Over 1100 videos at Jay Leno's Garage! Thanks for your amazing contribution Jay! Just now getting to the point where, "Oh! Have I seen that one???" Yes, but I'm watching it again! Really a huge fan! Such interesting car/stories told with classic Jay Leno humour!!! Never, ever gets old! Thank you Sir!
As someone said, and they're right, Jay Leno is the best car museum docent in the country.
Much greatness to enjoy.
Especially Jay. His vast knowledge and a great memory.
I spend a lot of time trying to locate my reading glasses until i glance into a mirror and see them perched on my forehead.
Hollywood’s vicarious gift to the world: car culture and history via Jay Leno
Jay is a legend. An automobile ambassador and just a great human being. God Bless
Jay leno will go down in history as probably the biggest car guy of all time
100%
Rick Hendrick would like a word…..
@@timsullivan9642 does he share his cars with the world. I think not.
@@adriaanserrao2016 he does, plenty of people have shared videos.
And the kindest
Jay continues to be the consummate comedian, even when being interviewed. The comment "these were built to run over poor people" had me literally crying. We are so fortunate to have someone with his knowledge and caliber to save these cars for future generations. Thanks Jay!
The only thing more amazing than Jay's cars is Jay!
Jay would have been the coolest grandfather. I could listen to him forever. Amazing man.
Everytime i saw jay, it kinda bring me chills... I watched jay since i was a kid...seeing him today moves slowly, his words starting to stutter...
im always thinking its only matter of time when he cant drive anymore and even worse...
Its scary for me that we starting to lose these generation that live to tell the stories and experience while our generation or after it have less knowledge on it...
As a bigger picture thats how scary a civilization could ends because we neglect history and no one interested to learn about it...
True the WW2 Baby boomers are getting on abit now mate, unfortunately thats evolution they won't be around forever.
One day the tik tok generation will replace them in 60/70 yeara which well... doesn't have the same character or charm ha.. is very much obvious.
@@Future-Classic-Cars one thing i notice is that those charms of generations are came from war ..or big conflict even if they're not drafted or involved but living from those era give that charm
A chance to see Jay Leno and his unbelievable collection would be my main reason for traveling to the US these days. Thank you Mr. Leno for being what must be the world’s greatest true petrol head collector!
Jay and Tom FANTASTIC !
