This is why midfield has always been my favourite area on the pitch. It allows for so much more technical talk and tactic interpretation than defense & attack as it’s a mixture of both. It was refreshing having an 1hr20 vid of the boys just talking abt football. The banter ep episodes with no football talk are class and really have me dying but these top10s just reminds me why Football is an Art and not just the biggest sport in the world. Great analysis from the Boys today man.
For a pro footballer this is actually pretty standard stuff but doing it in a match with opponents pressing you and with limited time and space is different.
Watched a clip of rodri bringing it down & pinging it about in Training effortlesly and it instantly made me think of my 1st day in yr7 watching the coldest guys in yr11 playing football at lunch. Makes you think how talented these ballers are and how much we take them for granted man
I would love to see a compilation of Pep, in training, from the beginning of his ManCity journey implementing his football philosophy and explaining why it works so well & how it arose. The way ManCity play is so aesthetically pleasing. We have to start viewing the greatest managers as Artists more than Tacticians/Geniuses.
Yo Guys. Looking to have a genuine conversation with ppl in the comments with this question. We say someone like Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the World (or was) but there could have easily been someone in the world faster than him with just no recognition. So do you guys think it’s the same in football? For instance, today we’ve concluded that Modric & Kdb have the been top 1 & 2 midfielders in the World for the last say 5 years. And we say “World” but could there also be someone out there with no recognition who has more pure footballing ability/talent than some of these guys at the top stage? And if your answer is “No, there couldn’t be” then ur inherently saying that the system professional football clubs at the highest level use to recruit the best talent is perfect. Which can’t be true right?
The thing about football is that due to how widespread and accessible it is, basically everyone is exposed to it and gets their chance. Running even more so. The only place that someone with bolt's running talent could be born and go unrecognized is north korea
Spain sure do produce classy midfielders.
