you mean the average reaction of the FGC in a nutshell? Good thing I don't participate. Especially the western FGC. I just follow the japanese streamers. the higher defense across the board already makes this patch less volatile. They want matches to last longer with more interactions. This is fundamentally all I actually asked for with GGST. The interactions and the way the neutral play out each match is actually the best part with strive. All the matches are varied and not linear in how people play. How one person can play the same character in a completely different style than another and it being visible to a casual person is not talked about enough. The skeleton of the game has always been great. It was just the matches going by so quick that needed to change. Like ky not being able to so easily do wall to wall combos anymore. Or bedman not being able to lock you down as easily. All those fall in line in having longer matches with more interactions. Less extended combos and pressure. the nerfs to offense is in line with making more interactions in matches and by finally removing options to stop buffing creep. There is a thing fighting games do where they eventually overtune all characters. "If everyone is broke, then no one is". The issue is the volatility that naturally comes from continual buffing. No one talks about this. But this is the one patch where they aren't deciding to buff everyone continuously but reworking the pace of the game itself. In fact, there is a lot of nerfs to buttons for the majority of the characters all to change how the matches are going to be paced. when people say this character is nerfed, they are not considering how this characters nerfs relate to the nerfs for the rest of the cast as well as the system mechanic changes. People look at their characters nerfs in relation to what the game is currently.

dizzy will absolutely be middle of the road simply because the rest of the cast has thousands of hours put into them by players for years. You have to be slayer who can dish out the most amount of damage with the least resistance possible to make a dent so quickly. but even then, characters that come out 3 years later will need to be developed just like those that came in the first year.

the strength of wings of light isn't actually its damage or being unblockable. The damage is correlated to your tension. People won't be saving 100% meter just for the wings of light when it takes so long to set up and there are so many uses needed for meter. Like RC, supers etc. Especially with gamma ray needing 100% meter. All while the opponent can make you explode as well. the strength of wings of light lies in causing your opponent to panic and be hyper offensive. Because it effectively sets a timer for the opponent as soon as you activate it. The opponent will have no choice but to attack you when those wings come out. If they stay back, then here comes unblockable damage. The question is if the wings will disappear when you get hit which I assume they actually do. So dizzy will need to set up and put the opponent in sustained pressure or to zone them out without being hit. And if you have to use roman cancels to get yourself out of danger, that reduces the damage potential of WoL by a ton. I foresee people using wings of light at 50% tension simply to cause the opponent to have to panic fight you and make potential mistakes. And while that is happening, tension may be used with RC and stuff. So by the time WoL activates, you would have either 50 or 25% tension. Its unblockable damage but it won't be obliterating half your health. Or people will use it in positive bonus after wall break to cause even more panic. most of it will come from your combos/mix + wings of light dmg at 50 or less tension is my prediction.

At 10:20 small correction when he pops and opponent is wall stuck they don’t go through and wall break they would just get knocked down next to the wall on the ground so this is a massive upgrade for him

Im pretty sure the sword move is Justice's sword. Who is her mom! I think that's pretty neat. GG does such a good job in incorporating a characters lore into their stuff like Sin's Tyrant Rave.
