I am inspired by your professionalism. Great progresses in most of the terms👍🏼✌🏼❤️
Great information and I'm dying over the voice over corrections! Love your videos =)
Beautiful painting. Paused at the very end to appreciate the painting in all its glory but the leg portion: her thigh, knees and especially her shoes are too big and don't match the overall proportion of her body. Maybe it's because of the perspective or the type of lens you used to capture the reference photo? or maybe it's just my eyes?
Great video! I subscribed
New love is Thomas✨
Love this Painting and the process video. I really enjoyed it.
The amount of work you invest to give us videos like this is amaz to me!! Great job, keep going!! I love your work!
Thanks so much!
Realistic and you did a great job❤
Appreciate it!
Wow what a beautiful painting ❤ and a great video 👍 Can i ask what type of brush you are using (4:49) ? They look very nice !
Honestly not sure
@ ok but is it maybe a sable brush ? It looks very soft !
There’s nothing wrong with using AI as a reference for a painting.
What a dope painting, what an amazing reference photo, and you showed us your mistake. This is awesome
Yeah, have to show the whole process
this is so perfect
Ty!
The sideways barcode on that shipping has me upset lol
You think that’s large?
thanks for sharing your knowledge <3
My pleasure!
This is what RUclips needs!! Getting back to good old videos! Amazing man, keep up the good work!! Congrats on your business by the way
Thank you!
Can you talk abt equipment and the way you make this part of your practice work sustainably
I have a full video on it here on YT
Seriously god bless you for sharing all this amazing hard earned info! Just bought a couple prints ive been eyeing. Seeing all the hassle you go through just to print them really puts the value into perspective ❤
Thanks man! I hope you enjoy them.
Alternatively, don't use varnish it's old, and still has the same glare / light reflection problem
😂 Shiiiid... That's a big canvas. Get a 3" paint brush from Lowes to block in.
Probably would have been a good idea
Hey nice video! Some interesting info. This seems like a very time consuming process especially when you include shipping. I understand that your main reason for not outsourcing prints is for quality control and personal touch but I would much rather spend time painting more than going through this. Have you tried outsourcing? What were the costs like? From my perspective I want as much time to paint as possible and delegate tasks when I can for maximum efficiency. I would love to hear why you choose to do it this way. Cheers
I might outsource them in the future but right now its not that bad!
Thank you for this video. How do you find clients?
Social media I assume
Hey maybe you could sell the failed prints for a little less, seems like win win situation for you and people that might not afford it other ways
So much hipster I can smell it
It’s revolting isn’t it. Wait till i get hand tattoos
Love your videos. Great work!!!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
does this work with acrylics?
It doesn’t
@ThomMinnickArt what would you recommend for acrylics?
This was very helpful, thank you! I'd love to see you make a video about how you come up with subject concepts for your work. How do you choose what to paint? Is there a story or message you are intentionally communicating with your art, or is it more intuitive?
I dont think i have much to say on that kinda thing. Thats why I dont think ill make a video on it. It was mostly trial and error and now its pretty intuitive
This is incredible work! Thanks for showing the process! This is very helpful. I’ve been struggling in scaling!
Glad you found it helpful!
dude your art is amazing
Thank you!
Wow!
Great picture. It’s clear that you managed to capture the essence of the moment and convey certain emotions-like nostalgia and sadness. It’s hard for me to describe because this is something I deeply value in paintings: the ability to capture a fleeting moment, a certain mood, or emotions that are difficult to express. And you’ve truly succeeded in doing that here. I also have a question: I’d like to learn how to paint myself, but I have absolutely no idea where to start. Do you recommend any guides or tutorials? In the video, there’s a part where you’re teaching a friend how to paint-what kind of exercises or tasks do you assign her, for example?
She had some experience with painting beforehand. So we were just breaking down a portrait. I highly recommend @paintcoach he has some great tutorials out there for painters starting out!
Dude you're amazing. Love everything about your paintings! Subject, composition, the lighting, man, the lighting! _The five of us_ I think its called, breathtaking, epic. Your paintings are vibrant, voluptuous and distinctly destructive in some weird way. They're all fantastic; the energy of your paintings, I'm a huge fan! And now prints for only 50 and paintings for a 1000 bucks... I can only afford the 50 bucks print of the original, but man, I would proudly put your paintings on my wall!!
Thank you so much 😀 hope you got everything you wanted!
This is a fun and informative watch. Thanks for doing it!
Ofc!
I honestly appreciate the mess up print with the printer adding its own touch! It makes it collaborative and organic but I also understand the frustration! Side question did you get someone to make your website for you? Or is it some website builder thing? Long time fan but first time visiting your site it looks great!
I agree and disagree it can be cool sometimes but its also not what people are paying for so its gotta be perfect. My brother made my website!
@ThomMinnickArt true true! Also he did a great job! Does he do other people's? Is there some way to get in contact with him at a later date?
Thank you for your vids. Very helpful and inspiring. I've learned quite a bit so, thank you in advance for future videos.
You are welcome. Hope I can continue to help!
This is amazing! Thanks for the great video 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's reassuring to hear that it takes about a decade to learn, I'm almost a year in and the slow progress is painful
Just keep going! Its worth it!
I would have definitely bought your work if the distance wasn't an issue. Great work
I ship worldwide!
Hey man, love the videos. Do you mind me asking roughly how much each print costs you to make? The equipment looks expensive, the time it takes looks like a lot of effort and it looks like you may absorb some costs given things going wrong every now and then. But that all said, I’m interested about getting into this and if I could get to a stage anywhere near yours I’d have a lot of fun and find it very fulfilling
They are like 10-20 depending on the size
@ thanks man, looking forward to your next videos and posts. Keep up the good shit!
Photographer here: You should raise your F stop at least to steps to get a sharper image and reduce your shutter speed to compensate. Also the polarizing filter on the lens is all you need. Glare also depends on the angle of the subject with respect of the light source. Just adjust the angle of the painting or cover the light a little like you did.
Noted! Will do next time. As for the glare it doesn’t work for me if i only use the filter on the lens. At least not as well. Gets rid of like 80% of the glare
I’m surprised no one complimented the rad work suit
Its pretty rad!
lol this is awesome
nice tips, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
POLARIZING
Love the no BS vibe and dig at better help haha. Glare has been my fking nemesis lol, thanks alot!
Ofc!
